One of my fondest memories... The year was 1998 and my boy Dave had taken it upon himself to fund my new single "Elektro". We were pounding the pavement in Manhattan as we searched for Bobbito Garcia so we could hand him the vinyl and hopefully get my record played on the radio. Finally, we caught up with him at his store (Bobbito's Footwork) and he gave us the lead to go up to a radio show called Night Train that was going on that night.
When we got up to the station, Dj Eli was on the mix and Kinetic from The Arsonists was one of the MC's in the cipher. "Elektro" debuted on the air that night, and the on air freestyle session will forever hold a warm place in my heart. A lot of opportunities arose for me after that night. It was a truly great experience, and more evidence that persistence and hard work pay off.

This record is dope as Hell and continues Mr. Lif's mastery of rhymed storytelling. The first two tracks feed into each other as a harrowingly real tale of a new relationship grimly overshadowed by the girlfriend's stalking ex-lover with things inching closer & closer to inevitable confrontation. Brilliantly creative and very true to life, these are hallmarks of Mr. Lif and this new record is instructive, entertaining & worth attention. Sir Reginald Styles

This is the type of art that I'm always looking for. Honest. Story presented as a sort of folding of previous classic technique and still coming out fresh. To be moved forward with great work. Ben "Angrycrow" Nix-Bradley
